Discover the Art of Soo Bahk Do®
The Soo Bahk Do® martial art is a traditional Korean system with roots originating many centuries ago. As a classical martial art, Soo Bahk Do® is not a sport; its purpose is the development of the whole person through the harmony of body and mind.
Soo Bahk Do® is noted for its explosive kicking techniques and dynamic hand strikes, utilizing scientific theory to attain maximum power. Training in the Moo Duk Kwan® tradition seeks not only to prepare students for physical defense but to build character through our 5 Moo Do Values:
- History
- Tradition
- Philosophy
- Discipline/Respect
- Technique
The Moo Duk Kwan® is a “brotherhood and school of stopping inner and outer conflict and developing virtue through Soo Bahk Do® training.” Moo Duk Kwan® provides direction and focus in our mental training, while the Soo Bahk Do® technique requires the mental discipline that the Moo Duk Kwan® offers.
As our founder, Chang Si Ja Hwang Kee, famously stated: “We are not attempting to develop a better warrior, but a better person.”
We teach the Soo Bahk Do® martial art to men, women, and children ages 7 and up. Our goal is to develop self-discipline and respect for oneself and others while teaching effective self-defense skills through the Soo Bahk Do® martial art system as taught in the Moo Duk Kwan®.
Activity at Camas Soo Bahk Do – a licensed Moo Duk Kwan® martial art school – is overseen by Internationally Certified Instructors who ensure the quality, authenticity, and high standards of the Soo Bahk Do® martial art training experience.
